    The writer proposes a spine — how it opens, turns, and pays off. Push on it: cut what drags, sharpen the turn, until the through-line feels right.

    Break it into beats

    The crew splits the spine into an ordered beat sheet — the moments the video has to hit, one after another.

    Approve the beats

    Edit, reorder, add, or drop beats. Once the beat sheet reads right, it becomes the backbone of your shot list.
